Medicare
Medicare is a government program to help people with medical expenses. It is composed of 4 PARTS.
- Part A: helps pay hospital bills.
- Part B: helps pay Dr. bills.
- Part C: is a program called Medicare Advantage.
- Part D: helps pay for prescriptions drugs.
The government allows private insurance companies like Humana or United Health Care to sell something called Medicare Supplement Plans (aka Medigap). It is a similar to Medicare Part C but through private insurance companies.
The various Medigap plans (aka Medicare Supplement Plans) also are named by letters.
Medicare Supplement PLAN A is the name of a Medicare Supplement plan.
PART A is a government program to help retirees.
PLAN A is one of about 12 different plans people can choose to buy if they want to get additional coverage by buying a Medicare Supplement (aka Medigap) plan.
